My Blog

This is a blog I kept while I was in Iraq. I got back to the states in the middle of 2005. I've not really had any desire to post anything or talk about anything since I've been back nor have I felt like taking it down. I guess I'll leave it up for a while and see if anyone reads it. I do get e-mails from time to time mostly from people who have loved ones over there. Please feel free to read through it to get a little feel of what it was like where I was. There is also a link to a photo web site if you'd like to see some of my pictures. Leave a comment if you don't mind so I can see if anyone is really reading this.

Hey. I'm a 15 year old from Australia and I really enjoy reading your blog. I haven't really been following it, but I found it a few days ago and love reading your stories.

Peace,
-Reth.

See - you've got a fan club!

I started reading your blog as soon as you started posting after you were taken hostage by the Army

As I'm sure most who read it would agree, you were able to relay your experiences through humor, insight, and a huge amount of tolerance to any given situation.

I was really happy and relieved when you returned to your family safe and sound. I did, however, miss your blog. :-)

Continue to enjoy your great family and a wonderful life in your "next chapter" and new home.

We love you and will miss having you around. Neeny.

Hey IRR---- I check back too, just to see if you are blogging again. You and my hubby were in the sandbox at the same time. It was great to read your stories and see your side of stuff while he was serving there last year too. Take care.

Oooh, me too! I'd love for you to be posting again. You have a way of looking at things and expressing yourself that no matter what you are writing about, is entertaining. Plus, who wouldn't love to read about the time you tried to get Milo to float using helium balloons?

For some reason, I checked your blog last night, I don't know why maybe because I was still up bawling about you guys leaving, wow, that was a lot harder than I imagined. I will and I know our whole church family will miss you all greatly. Of course I'd love to keep reading your life stories, so if you decide to keeping posting, I'll keep reading. scm

I just wanted to say "thanks." I'm a US playwright, writing a play about a National Guard unit and some relationships that went, um, haywire in it. I have no military experience at all. I've spent hours and hours on the internet, putting pieces together so I can write about it intelligently. Your blog here is a godsend to me. These guys were deployed at the same time, and were just as surprised, and I'm sure had many of the same experiences.

I know they say "write what you know," and they are correct. I'm not sure why I've chosen to write about the military. Because not enough people (read: female writers, with a certain perspective) are.

Thanks.
